Bantham RevisitedDuring another long day on the beach I had to wander off to find anything worthy of photographing. I hadnt wandered too far when I stumbled across another photographer just starting a location shoot with a model on the sand dunes overlooking the beach. As a matter of coincidence I knew the photographer although I had not recognised who it was immediatly as I was keeping my distance. I have to admit that I do enjoy wandering and checking out the constantly changing landscape in search of any worthy shot as I wrote above. The light can make a such a significant change. I find that walking about helps to discover compositions that would otherwise remain hidden from the photographers eye. Other compositions are noted and stored into memory to ensure a revisit under better lighting conditions. Light is everything!! The shot of the boathouse and fence below are both examples of what I am trying to explain. From a previous visit to this area the boathouse was not in sunlight at all. On a second, planned, visit when I knew the sunlight would be good/better I made my way back and noted the empty path and sunlit fence that looked extremely photogenic (I had not noted this beforehand).
